I have been off an on the Strava platform quiet often over the past few years. I see and understand the reason for Strava but at the same time, as an athlete who pays a coach to help me with workouts and such, I was wondering to myself if I was giving away info that my coach would rather I keep to myself. After looking back at Strava and what I had posted in the past, I have hopped back on. The way I see it, unless I share in the description of my workout, I can keep the specifics of the workouts between myself and my coach, and still give an idea of how far I ran to my friends.
Strava, for those of you who have never heard of the it, is a digital training log of sorts that you can sync to your GPS watch (or manually enter) and it will upload a ton of data information from your last run (or swim or bike ride) and post it on the app/website for all your followers to see. You can also join training groups, and challenges as well. Some marathons will even form groups so that you can interact with those whom you will be racing with in the near future. I just joined the Air Force Marathon group today in fact. There is also a BibRave group that you will want to join as well!
Over the next few months, I will be posting on here, as well as on my social media handles some of the awesome stuff that I have discovered on Strava (such as how to track how many miles are on your current shoes).
Are you on Strava? You can track me. Just Search my name, Mark Davidhizar, and you will find my profile.
Not a member yet? Now is your chance to join in on all the fun. Signing up is quick and easy. Just click here!!! You will be able to use the basic program for free which still gives you a wealth of information and feedback on your running. Once you have your profile created, you will be ready to add your favorite GPS device to start logging those hard earned miles. Remember, once you create your account, start following me and I will follow you back!
