BibRave Product Review: Eagle Creek Cargo Hauler Duffle Bag

Disclaimer: I received an Eagle Creek 60 L duffel bag as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro(ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review, find, and write race reviews! All opinions are my own.

One of the best things about running, is going to races. And when you travel for races, it’s important to have an awesome, strong bag to carry all you needed items in. From all the bags that I have tried, nothing beats the Eagle Creek Cargo Hauler Duffle bag. This thing is large (but not too large) and in charge!

First, let’s talk about how much gear fits into this bag. I created this video as I was packing for the Chicago Marathon to demonstrate how much it holds.

The Cargo Duffle Hauler has enough room to store 3 days worth of clothing plus two sets of running clothes needed for the weekend. Oh, and don’t forget my running shoes, Orange Mud Hydraquiver, toiletries, and gels.

And did you catch that at the end? It functions great as a backpack! I found this to be an awesome feature for transporting it instead of holding it by the straps in my hands. I used the Cargo Hauler Duffle for race weekend trip, camping trips, and lunch time runs (AKA Runch). This bag was perfect for all those occasions. Usually after my Runch, I would throw my sweaty clothes in the side pockets. This keeps the dirty clothes separate from the extra running clothes that I brought that I didn’t need.

All of this is awesome, but there is still one more thing. One of the worst things about Duffle bags is storing them away. They just take up too much space. Not the Cargo Hauler Duffle bag. When not in use, pack it up in its own bag. This makes it great to just put in the closet without taking up too much space.

If you are looking for a great Duffle bag, the Eagle Creek Cargo Hauler Duffle is a great choice. It is tough, it is compact when not in use, it’s easy to carry, and even water resistant! Check out their full line for Cargo Hauler Duffle bags as Eagle Creek does offer different sizes, even bigger than 60L. I honestly can’t imagine having a larger one, but who knows, maybe that would suite you better.
