If there is one constant in my running wardrobe, it’s BUFF®.  BUFF® has come up for so many different types of hardware for all kinds of weather.  Well, BUFF® has recently released its newest like of hardware for the colder months.  Meet ThermoNet™!

What is ThermoNet™? ThermoNet™ is light weight, moisture wicking material that is designed to keep you warm and dry while being active.  Of course, as it gets cold, keeping your head warm is important at keeping your core body temperature steady.  ThermoNet gives you the best protection from the cold. It is 4 times warmer than other microfibers. ThermoNet wicks moisture away while reaping in the heat, keeping you warm and dry.

I received the ThermoNet™ hat and Balaclava in the Arrowhead design. First, let me point out the obvious between the ThermoNet™ compared to other BUFFS® and that is the feel of the fabric.  I am not sure how to discribe it but it feels the way I always thought a traditional BUFF® would feel when I first saw them on Survivor.  I guess I would compare it to the way a good tech shirt feels.

When testing both products out, I of course wore the hat on my head (where else would I wear it), and the balaclava around my neck.  This kept my neck warm as well as the ability to pull it up around my mouth if needed, which I had to do on today’s morning run.

For the hat, the fit is great for me and I am still able to get my headphones to fit under it comfortably without any heat escaping.  We really haven’t had very many cold days here in Northern Indiana except for the last week, but even with temps in the 40s, the hat did a great job at keeping me warm, but still dry.  Complete awesomeness!

Both these ThermoNet pieces will become a permanent part of my winter running collection. They both fit great and do a great job at what they are supposed to do; keep you warm and dry.  Compared to the Marino Wool style, I prefer ThermoNet, hands down.
