If you have been following my blog over the past year, you may be thinking; wait, haven’t you already tested and wrote a blog about Luvo meals.  Well, yes, you are right.  You can read that review here.  This time around, I got to pick the meals I wanted to try.  I loved the meals I tried last time do I was ready to explore more of their flavors.

First of all, these are no ordinary meals.  These are a great fast and easy way to get a healthy meal for those who are in a hurry, or like me, just can’t cook a meal to save their life.  What I like most, is the huge amount of protein that is in each meal.  All meals that I have tried have 18 or 19 grams of protein.  But let’s face it, no matter how healthy a meal is, you won’t eat it if it doesn’t taste good.  Fear not! These meals taste great.  They are just packed with flavor.  They are also real easy to prepare.  Just follow the directions on the packaging, throw in microwave for the designated amount of time and it steams your meal for you.  It’s that easy! So what meals did I try this time around?

Chicken Enchiladas

This is probably my favorite meal.  It is served with black beans and jasmin rice. And the Chicken used in this and the other Chicken based dishes use Chicken that have not been give antibiotics.  There is some spice to this meal but is pretty mild.  Still a lot of flavor.

Tandoori-Inspired Spiced Chick

If spicy food is for you, this dish is for you! I am not a huge fan of spicier food but this was fantastic! This meal is served with Mango, brown jasmine rice, broccoli, and cauliflower.  Like I said, it packs some heat.

Chicken Chile Verde

Once again a good meal.  Not my favorite in the Luvo line but still a good option.  Not as spicy as the Tandori Inspired Chicken.  This meal is served with black beans and polenta.  This meal has 25 grams of protein in it!!! That’s 50% of your recommended daily need.

Chicken in BBQ Sauce

When I first tried Luvo meals, this is the one I wanted to try the most but could never find it.  I have finally found it.  I was disappointed when I got it and saw that it was served with collard greens and grits. Both are. Or typical menu options in our home and not really a big fan of either.  This even had me questioning trying it.  But I did, and very happy I did.  It was really good.  I am a huge fan of BBQ chicken and was pleased with this dish.  Glad I know where I can get more of this kind now. The BBQ sauce is on the mild side.

Turkey Vegetable Lasagna

This one was a real step out of my comfort zone.  For one, there was kale in it.  Another thing, it the turkey.  Not gonna lie, I am a huge fan of ground beef in my pasta dishes.  It is also prepared with whole wheat noodles and spinach.  Overall, to me, this dish was ok. It may not be one that I will buy again, but not every dish will be for everyone.

Overall, I found some great meal options.  One thing I found out is that not every store has the same meals.  If you are looking for a certain meal or what stores sell Luvo meals, check out their Store locator.  Also, you can find Coupons on their website.  Who doesn’t want to save money?

One thing I want to try is the Luvo Bowls.  So far I have not been able to find them in this area but hopefully here soon they will expand outside of major cities.
