Product Review: Oofos Sandals

Disclaimer: I received a pair of Oofos Sandals to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

After a good hard race or workout the first thing I want to do is get my running shoes off and let my feet breathe a little. Typically though, I don’t like to go barefoot, especially outside (weird I know). This means, especially after a race, while waiting for awards, I want my sandals (or flip flops) on my feet.  In the past, I have gone with a cheap $5 pair from a popular store.  The issue with these is that they are not comfortable and don’t offer much cushion.  For $5, you get what you pay for.

When given the opportunity to try out the Oofos flip flops, I got excited, even more so when they arrived at my door!

The great thing about Oofos flip flops are that unlike your running shoes which are designed to rebound and energy return with every stride to propel you forward, Oofos does the direct opposite.  They absorb 37% more impact to reduce the stress on your feet and the rest of your body to help with recovery. They also provide:

  • Additional arch support
  • Enables more of a natural foot motion
  • Refuses stress on knees and back (not just your feet)

The first thing I noticed was how thick the bottoms of them are as well as how much cushion they have. Just check out the huge difference between the Oofos and an old cheap pair that I used to wear.

Wow!

Trying them on, I instantly noticed how much cushion they really have.  These have to be the most comfortable piece of footwear I have ever had on my feet, let alone most comfortable flip flop.  Besides the cushion, one of the other things that makes them so comfortable is the piece that does in between your torso. With the cheaper flip flops, this is what causes a lot of discomfort and blisters. While wearing the Oofos flip flops, there is absolutely none of that.

I feel confident and comfortable wearing these anywhere: after a race, before a race, post workout, to the store, while outside with kids, camping, to church (we attend a casual church), sitting by the camp fire. You name the activity, I wear my Oofos there (except to work, not allowed to wear flip flops to work. Stupid rules…). I have worn them so much over the past few weeks and they feel just as comfortable as the day they arrived.

The Oofos flip flop run for $59.95.  Obviously, this is more than the cheap flip flops that I was referring to earlier but remember, you get what you pay for. These are great for post run/race recovery and just letting your feet breath.  Check out their Full line of flip flops and sandals and get yourself a pair.  Your feet will thank you in the long run.

The Oofos flip flops were even on the Kelly and Michael show.  I guarantee these flip flops are way more comfortable than watching the end of Michaels time on that show…  https://youtu.be/_0oJn3bLlNg
